As the Election Commission has approved appointment of Anup T Mathew to replace Nirmal Kumar Mishra as new SP of Dumka the Jharkhand Vikas Morhca (JVM) came forward and blamed the outgoing SP Nirmal Mishra for rigging during the April 24 polling.
The JVM, at the same time, also demanded removal of present Dumka DC and conduct a CBI probe into entire poll process, including deployment of machinery. Marandi is a party candidate from Dumka and up against JMM patriarch Shibu Soren in an intense poll battle.
The Babulal Marandi-led party on Tuesday alleged that the ruling JMM Government used the existing machinery in its favour to influence the outcome of the election.
“We welcome the action taken against the SP. With this it has also been proved that on the instructions of the incumbent Government large scale rigging has taken place. Police and administration have affected the independent elections,” reads a press communiqué released by party supremo Babulal Marandi.
The EC had come down heavily on local administration for its role in managing local security scenario and ordered to shift Mishra.
