JVM finds faults with Govt growth card

The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has rapped the Government for making tall claims about development measures and zero tolerance against corruption. The party also challenged the dispensation to come clean before the people on the questions it has raised.

Addressing a press conference a day after the Government celebrated its three years of stay in power under the leadership of Chief Minister Raghubar Das which is also record for any leader in Jharkhand so far, JVM principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav dubbed the dispensation as the ‘most corrupt’.

“The Government is making tall claims about development in the State during the last three years. I challenge them to tell the people about even three of their decisions or steps which are meant for the wellbeing of the people and are in their larger interest. Instead, what I believe firmly that the threes years have been the most corrupt period during the 17 years of history of the State,” said the party legislator on Friday.

Yadav went on alleging the BJP-led Government for continuously working against the interest of the people and taking the decisions which have hit them very hard. Citing examples of land acquisitions made and firing incidents targeting farmers, the MlA also termed the acts undemocratic in nature.

“People by and large have not endorsed the decisions taken by the Government and it is very evident with the sense one is getting. The Government has gone against the aspirations of the common man where nothing has changed in the basics of economy. Priority sectors like health, education, electricity etc have taken a back seat. And when the people are up against it they have to face the bullet. The State has seen the worst kind of dictatorship in the last three years,” added Yadav.

Furnishing data, the JVM leader said that power generation in the State has come down from 700 MW from to current 250 MW and criticised the Government for handing over PTPS to the NTPC. “This is the achievement of the Government. It is ludicrous that the Government is showing supply of benches and desks in schools in their achievement list! If you see cost of roads coming up, it indicates to massive corruption. The road from Airport-Birsa Chowk-Raj Bhawan-Booty More is being built at the expenditure of Rs 1757 crore. There are many such projects in different parts of the State,” added Yadav.

The party, at the same, time has demanded from the Government to release a White Paper on the claims it has been making so that actual facts come before the people.
