JVM supremo Babulal Marandi has intensified his pre poll exercise here for the Chatra Lok Sabha seat. The former CM of Jharkhand is making extensive pre poll tours in Palamu and Latehar districts where he has so far addressed nearly a dozen public gatherings drawing huge support for the lady Neelam Devi who is nursing the Chatra Lok Sabha segment over the last four years.
Neelam Devi is accompanying Marandi everywhere as a day before his arrival here in Palamu she embarked upon her tour in villages asking people to be electorally with Marandi by way of sitting and tea taking with them in Lesliganj, Panki etc places.
Chatra LS seat has parts of Palamu like Lesliganj, Panki, Tarhassi, Manatu and Latehar and Chatra as well.
Marandi who is in this region over the last three days addressing gathering of people last leg at Latehar’s Manika on Wednesday today told this correspondent in Betla today people are too fed up with this BJP Government and are just waiting for polling to take place to root out this BJP Government. The mood and the pulse of the people are against this Government he said.
However, much this veteran leader labours hard for a unified opposition to BJP in the LS election the RJD is throwing spanner in the scheme of unified opposition fight to the BJP. And the Congress too is not any behind.
RJD chief Annapurna Devi, who was here in Daltonganj on Tuesday told media persons that RJD stakes its claim for Chatra, Palamu and Koderma seats. Sources said if RJD sticks to its demand then it is surer to cause chink in the armour of opposition’s united fight to BJP.
Sources said JVM has a strong pitch in Chatra, Koderma and Godda but everywhere either RJD or the Congress is up like Congress batting for Furqan Ansari from Godda while Annapurna Devi going for Chatra and Koderma.
RJD has parachuted one Subhash Yadav from Bihar for Chatra LS seat but the man is yet to increase his winnability there. A RJD leader begging for anonymity said this man who has come from Bihar has no idea of poll chemistry or poll mathematics here. On the other hand Neelam Devi is from Chandwa of Chatra LS segment.
Speaking to the Pioneer in Betla Marandi said, “I have asked my fellow senior politicians to see the candidates’ winning chances than the symbol that they carry with them. Candidates’ ability to magnetize votes should be the only criterion and not his face at all.”
Marandi expressing hope said his party is set to sail most smoothly in these three seats Chatra, Koderma and Godda. He reiterated there will emerge a consensus of opinion among all likeminded parties fighting BJP’s misrule in the State.
