Readying itself ahead of next major political battle lined up in 2019-20, the JVM has given open invitation to other parties in Opposition to come together and fight the BJP out. The party is of the view that there are sufficient common grounds on which all the parties can take on the ruling party in the State in a collective manner.
Speaking publicly for the first time after coming out of jailon Friday, party legislator and principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav, who was looking lean but sounding even sharper, challenged the Government to go ahead with its ‘atrocities’.
“They have done everything to break me inside the jail. Worst ever facilities were given to me and I was not even allowed the privileges I was entitled to as a former minister and incumbent MlA in Dumka jail. Even jail authorities were under intense pressure from the Government to torture me. Now, when I am out, I don’t know for how long, I was asked what nextIJ looking at the nature and attitude of the Government I propose all the parties except the BJP to join hands for 2019 to weed them out,” said the fiery MlA.
Pradeep Yadav has been languishing in jail for last five months and slapped with several charges nonetheless the prime reason was his vociferous agitations and hunger strike against Adani power plant coming up at Godda. He was not even allowed to attend Monsoon Session of the Assembly on technical grounds.
“Some say, the State and country is under undeclared emergency. What I felt in the course of my recent agitations that it is worse than even the Emergency. I lost 14 kg of my weight due to hell like conditions in jail and the way I was treated by the administration at the behest of the Government. But the Government of the day should recall the Emergency era and realise that this land and its people do not tolerate dictatorship for long,” he went on.
The MlA was given a heroic welcome at the party office by leaders and workers. This prompted him lashing out almost all policies and decisions of the Government. Yadav went on alleging the Government for indulging into institutional corruption and threatened to expose those one by one.
Also present on the occasion was party president Babulal Marandi who lauded the courage and struggle shown by the legislator. “This is just a beginning. Our party with the likes of Pradeep Yadav would take the struggle meant for the common people, farmers, land losers, tribals to their logical conclusion. The situation is grave where land losers of different projects are being marked as land encroachers and are being razed again and again,” said the former Chief Minister.
