The JVM has come down heavily on the State Government for “sitting idle” while law and order situation in various parts of Jharkhand taking a dip. The party blamed the Government for its failure to save the life of the medical officer killed for ransom in Gumla on Monday and counted upon some more incidents to drive home its point. “Several incidents relating to crime have taken place recently. Public servants and common men of the State are living under great deal of fear coming from criminals, naxals and even generated by musclemen of Ministers. But the Chief Minister is extremely busy in pleasing his bosses sitting in Delhi,” said JVM general secretary and legislator Pradeep Yadav on Tuesday.
Senior medical officer Dr RB Chaudhary was first kidnapped and after four days brutally killed by his abductors for ransom in Gumla. The party claimed that the police could not act on time despite having information about his whereabouts and demand placed by the criminals before his family members. “When the doctor got killed and health services across the State came to a standstill, the Chief Minister and his colleagues are shedding crocodile tears. Whereas main reason behind the Government’s inability to control such incidents is that the entire machinery is preoccupied in appeasing blue eyed industrialists of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah and making Jharkhand a greener pasture for them,” said Yadav.
The party has also decided to start a statewide movement on the issue from Sahebgunj from where the diseased originally belonged in a couple of days. A delegation of the party would also pay a visit to the aggrieved family and put weight behind its demand for monetary compensation and others. Yadav added that in the endeavour the party would not hesitate in taking support from other parties in the Opposition.
“The situation has tuned even worse as we have seen a District Development Officer at Dumka getting hackled and abused by strongmen of Minister louis Marandi and the officer subsequently applied for VRS. Soon the Government put him under suspension alleging fraudulent charge. We would consult other parties as well and request them to come together on these burning issues,” he said.
The party also drew attention on pathetic electricity and water supply situation in the capital and termed it as unforeseen in the history of the State. “The JVM could not remain a mute spectator to all this. We appeal to the CM that the commitments made to his bosses in Delhi can be fulfilled one by one but those made to the people of the State should come first on the priority list,” said the legislator.
