Jusco School South Park joined hand-in-hand with Rotary Club of Jamshedpur in order to create mass awareness about Rotary India literacy Mission (RIlM).
The mission is: TEACH (T-Teacher Support, E-e learning, A-Adult literacy, C-Child Development, H-Happy Schools) an initiative of Rotary Club. Jusco School South Park made an appeal to all the pupils to wake up to the genuine cause, donate books and take responsibility of a single ‘smile’. The response was overwhelming.
Approximately 1,609 books and 47 stationery items were collected on a very short notice. These books and the stationery items were received by Prof Sharad Sarin on behalf of Rotary International District (3250) in a formal ceremony held at the school premises on Friday. Rotary Clubs all over India are aiming to collect one million books for one million smiles from July 1 to July 6, 2014. These books would be kept in 1500 libraries under the Happy School Project.
Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Mid-Row’s president Asish Das acknowledged Jusco School South Park’s contribution towards this initiative. Prof Sharad Sarin thanked the school team for their true effort of collecting books for bringing smile on one million faces.
