Four-day 33rd Junior Boys Freestyle Greco-Roman and 16th Junior Girls Freestyle national wrestling championship inaugurated at Koderma Block Ground on Thursday. Jharkhand Water Resources and Child Welfare Minister Annapurna Devi, Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Wrestling Federation of India vice-president K Ravi Kumar, Wrestling Federation of India general secretary Raj Singh, Jharkhand Olympic association general secretary SM Hasmi, Jharkhand Wrestling Association president UP Singh, Jharkhand Wrestling Association General Secretary Bholanath Singh, MlA from Barkattha Amit Yadav, vice-chairman district board Dr Neera Yadav jointly lighted the inaugural lamp and hoisted the flags of Jharkhand Wrestling Association, Wrestling Federation of India.
Chief Guest of inaugural session Annpurna Devi told that Jharkhand Government is serious about games and sports and it is the moment full of honour to organise such national event in the district. It is time to encourage the wrestling game. Jharkhand is a State with meritorious players in all the games. She appreciate DC Koderma and wrestling Federation of India vice president K Ravikumar for organising this championship in Koderma. She appealed wrestlers to bout with sportsman spirit and perform their best. She wished for their bright future.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, also MP from Kaisarganj, told that Jharkhand is playing a vital role in improvement of wrestling and other games also. He added that Jharkhand and like it other many States are serious about this game. Before this we have already organised this national game at Ranchi in 2010 and at Deoghar in 2012 in Jharkhand successfully. There are so many Probabilities of wrestling in Jharkhand.
SM Hashmi told addressing the ceremony, 33 championships in difference games are in progress in the State and we are trying to organise the Marathon race by Olympic federation going to be held in the month of June.
