After destroying all the houses and school building of lukaiya village of Daru block where some days ago a baby elephant had died in an accident the herd of jumbos has now shifted towards Churchu block area.
On the Saturday night the herd entered into Udlu and Kemo villages of the block and destroyed 14 houses and ate the stored food grains kept in the houses. The Aanganbadi center of Udlu village was also destroyed by the jumbos and everything kept there including papers and food materials was eaten by the members of the herd.
The herd first entered in Udlu village where it destroyed the houses of Bihari Ram, Tuleshwar Ram, Vinod Ram and Prayag Ram then in late night it moved to Kemo village where it damaged the house of Dularchand Mahto who runs a PDS shop in the village. Besides this the herd damaged the houses of Jagat Mahto, Sukar Mahto, Aghan Mahto, Teko Mahto, Kirti Mahto, Tukan Mahto and Kani House (the house where stray animals are kept).
