A herd of jumbos has again entered in the Tatijharia block of Hazaribagh district. Within last two days a herd of 17 elephants has destroyed crops in hundreds of acres, ate food grains stored in the houses of many villagers and schools and has broken 11 houses in Shimradhab village of the block.
last night when the villagers were sleeping in their houses suddenly the herd entered in the village and attacked on the houses. The villagers fled away leaving their houses and then the herd ate the food grains they have stored in their houses. Some women and children who were in deep sleep that time escaped at time. They said that if they had been a little late then the herd might have crushed them.
