Sensing the importance of a long-pending demand of general public, Health Minister Banna Gupta opened the gate of Jubilee Park on Sunday evening. Gupta was accompanied by Jamshedpur Ashes office bearer Krishna Kumar and SDO Sandeep Meena.
After opening the gate, the Minister himself along with his convoy and supporters inspected the entire Jubilee Park and directed the officials to make necessary arrangements.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Gupta said that Jamshedpur is the city of dreams of Tata, who always worked for giving priority to public facilities and convenience to the public interest first, but today some of the Tata group executives want to do business.
He said respecting public sentiment, he himself has opened the gate today and has instructed the officials in strict words that the gate should never be closed in future and ensure the movement of all types of vehicles.
In response to the questions, he said that the district administration had continuously corresponded to the officials of the company to open it, if the company did not agree, then the government could have taken major action against the company, but the livelihood of many families is associated with the company.
Legislature Saryu Roy had also objected to the closure of the Jubilee Park Road by Tata Steel UISL, a Tata Steel subsidiary which looks after the upkeep of Steel City.
“The Jubilee Park Road is meant for facilitating smooth traffic. It is meant for the use of local residents Why it is closed for such a long time, “questioned the legislator and objecting to any construction on that road that passes through the green lungs.
The Jubilee Park Road that passes along the scenic Jayanti Sarovar was closed in March this year during the second wave of Covid.
Though the State Government while relaxing the lockdown restrictions last month had allowed re-opening of parks but Jubilee
Park was yet to open for common visitors
State Health Minister Banna Gupta along with deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar and Jusco authorities had visited the park last month and had allowed entry of only morning and evening walkers.
It was made mandatory for those entering the park to show their identity, preferably Aadhaar Card.
