JSW Cement plans to increase the capacity of its Salboni unit in West Bengal from 2.4 MTPA at present to 3.6 MTPA. This capacity addition is in line with the company’s commitment to strengthen its presence in eastern India, starting with West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand. Inaugurated in January 2018, the manufacturing unit at Salboni has already become an integral part of JSW Cement’s growth story in the East. It has quickly grown to serve customers across all districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
JSW Cement now has a robust distribution network comprising more than 1300 dealers and retailers in Bihar and Jharkhand. The superior quality of PSC cement produced at Salboni has established JSW Cement as the only new player to achieve a firm foothold in the ‘Category A’ pricing segment, in a short span of time.
According to Raj Kumar Pandey, state head – Bihar & Jharkhand, JSW Cement said “We are one of the leading PSC cement players in Bihar and Jharkhand. The capacity expansion of the Salboni Unit will enable us to cater to the growing demand for PSC in these States. We will continue to strengthen our presence by further strengthening our robust distribution network. The decision to produce only PSC is in line with our commitment to conserving the country’s natural resources and to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations.”
