The Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA) on Friday expressed its concerns on non-implementation of the Procurement Policy 2007 that had been cancelled in July 2012. The policy was cancelled so that a new policy could be made and implemented by October 2012 but it never happened.
In a press communiqué the trade body stated that it was strictly instructed to include turnkey projects in the proposed policy on 2013 but it appeared that some government officials want to bypass the instruction from the policy.
The body further said that if turnkey projects were not included in the new Procurement Policy, the local industries would not get much benefit from it. This would result in industrial sickness and unemployment.
JSIA sought implementation of the policy with inclusion of turnkey projects in it so that the youths could get employment and industries, especially of the Small Scale segment could prosper in the State for the larger interest of the economy of Jharkhand.
