Several life members of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) accused General Secretary of Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) Aditya Verma of maligning the image of JSCA by dragging the name of JSCA president Amitabh Chaudhary for pressurizing Mahendra Singh Dhoni to leave captaincy of limited over matches.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, they also said that everything was being done at the behest of former Union Minister and ex-MP of Ranchi Subodh Kant Sahay due to some ulterior motives.
Verma, holding a press conference on Sunday, had said that it was due to the pressure mounted by Chaudhary that Dhoni left captaincy as he was being asked to play Ranji matches from Jharkhand.
“Sahay wants to take charge of JSCA, but everyone knows what he had done to prevent the construction of JSCA in HEC. Sahay must accept the fact that people have already rejected him,” said a JSCA life member, Kuldeep Singh.
Other life members Ajay Nath Shahdeo, Raju Sharma, Sanjay Pandey, Sanjay Sahay, Shailendra Kumar, Nurul Hoda and Bokaro Secretary cum Ranji Manager PN Singh were also present alongwith Singh at the press meet.
They also outrightly rejected Verma’s charges that Chaudhary has refused to provide JSCA stadium to BCCI for conducting test match with Australia in March this year.
“We must also understand that how could a person (Amitabh Chaudhary) who devoted whole of his life for the betterment of cricket, would not allow BCCI to hold a match in Ranchi while so many international matches were played here under his guardianship,” said Singh.
When asked about their take on recommendations made by lodha Committee, they said that the committee will discuss the matter and take appropriate action after that. “Ad-hoc committee will also be formed by those who are the valid members of JSCA,” said Singh.
They also appealed people not to pay attention to such persons who themselves have no recognition and are running a parallel organization in Bihar.
