JPSC row: Now successful candidates take to street

Published on:

At the time when dust has started settling on civil services result declared by the JPSC, now those who have been declared pass are coming into fore. A delegation of the successful candidates gathered at the Assembly on Thursday and presented themselves to the vociferous Opposition party members to refrain from maligning the examination process.

The step followed after the Government and Opposition remained at loggerheads for four days; unsuccessful candidates hitting the streets; formation of an Advisory Committee; Jharkhand High Court making its intent clear and finally, the Commission coming out with clarifications.

“There is no merit in the doubts raised. Even the HC during hearing on Wednesday asked for one single point on which the result can be questioned but the petitioners said that the charges are appearing in the media and questions are being raised on the Assembly,” said a successful candidate requesting anonymity. “We believe that there are vested interests of the unsuccessful candidates involved who are wary of the next CS syllabus that is completely different. Also, it appears that the politicians, whose wards were selected in the first three CS in which CBI probe is continuing, want to divert attention from the rigging having taken place,” said another successful candidate requesting anonymity. The State Govt has constituted a high-level Advisory Committee headed by Saryu Roy with Alamgir Alam, Stephen Marandi, Pradeep Yadav, Radha Krishna Kishore and Raj Kishore Mahto as members. The panel would look into details of the examination system being adopted by JPSC and also by the State Staff Selection Commission for various posts. It will submit its recommendations within 15 days.
