JPSC aspirants meet Guv, demand probe in civil service examination

A delegation of the JPSC aspirants met Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais on Friday and requested him to order an inquiry into the alleged corruption in the combined state civil service examination conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).

The delegation comprised Manoj Yadav, Devendra Nath Mahto.  Kahkashan Alam, Praveen Kumar and Kunal Pratap Singh also submitted a memorandum highlighting alleged corruption.

“All across the world, the merit list is prepared from top to the bottom. But JPSC prepared the merit list from the bottom to the top. Corruption is so glaring that a candidate of the general category who secured 148 marks was declared successful in the preliminary test. But at the same time another candidate who secured 260 marks was declared failed,” said Yadav.

The delegation informed the Governor that a total of 4293 students were declared successful for the preliminary examination. Out of this, there are 242 are such candidates who have their roll number in a serial. They are from different examination centers in Lohardaga, Sahebganj, Latehar and Gumla.

The JPSC announced a combined civil service examination comprising seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth JPSC for 252 seats.

“You can say that out of 252 seats, the JPSC has already sold 242 seats which is evident from the fact. JPSC has asked all of them to come to the JPSC office along with a carbon copy of their answer sheet. But why does the JPSC ask them to come along with the carbon copy for verification of the answer sheet? JPSC has their original answer sheets. Are their answer sheets missing? The entire process is very doubtful,” Yadav said.

He said that he told all these things to the Governor and who carefully heard them and assured to rake-up this issue.

Earlier, the Governor had summoned the JPSC chief Amitabh Choudhary on this matter also.
