A delegation of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC), led by president, Dr Rameshwar Oraon and the leader of the Legislature Party, Alamgir Alam submitted a memorandum to the President on behalf of the people of the State by the Governor on Friday.
After handing over the memorandum to the Governor, Droupadi Murmu, Oraon and Alamgir Alam addressed the media persons at the Raj Bhavan main gate. The JPCC Chief said that if people above the age of 45 years should be given free vaccine, then what is the crime committed by the youth of 18 to 44 years, while the Central Government.
The Government had also promised to give free vaccine to everyone and had allocated about Rs 360 crore rupees in this regard, yet this inhuman behavior of the Central Government is beyond comprehension, he added.
“Even on the price of vaccination, the Country is in a dilemma of how there can be three prices of the same vaccine, even the Supreme Court has asked the Government on the price. There is a federal structure in India and till now, in the federal system in the Country, the Central Government has been providing all types of vaccines in the last 70 years, even the countries of the world have done the work of getting free vaccines to their people,” said Oraon.
While drawing the attention of the Governor, JPCC Chief said, “When the whole world was vaccinating its people, we were patting ourselves on our back, in the coming days if we want to stop the Corona epidemic, then vaccination needs to be done on a war footing. It is our duty to take these demands to the President and in this regard, the State Congress Committee, through His Excellency, demands immediate intervention from the President of India.”
Speaking on the occasion Alam said on two major issues we have come to appeal to the President of India for the demand of free vaccine without any discrimination and for the whole Country and 10 million people to be given vaccine daily, the way the Central Government does business regarding the vaccine.
“It is seen that it is very sad and worrying, we request the President that GST should not be imposed on all essential medicines and vaccines. By bringing a new vaccination policy to the whole Country, the vaccine should be made available to the whole Country and every day. Arrangement should be ensured to vaccinate one crore people,” he added.
On this occasion, working president of State Congress Committee Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Rajesh Gupta and Amulya Neeraj Khalkho were also present.
