Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Sunday launched a signature campaign against three anti-farmers’ laws — Farmer Production Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020, Farmer Empowerment and Protection Price Assurance Agricultural Services Act 2020 and
Essential Commodity Amendment Act 2020.
The party had announced a team of Supervisors in leadership of JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon to get signature of lakhs of farmers under the drive. The party started the drive under the series of ongoing agitation against laws. The Congress is continuously opposing the new agricultural law from national level to state level and the party will start a signature campaign against the laws which will be handed over to the President of India.
The Supervisors visited their respective districts to start campaign in support of the drive. In leadership of JPCC Working president Sanjay Lal Paswan and Co Supervisor, Sunny Toppo started the drive in Lohardaga.
Criticising the Central Government, JPCC Chief, Rameshwar Oraon said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Government attacked the 62 crore farmers by passing three black laws in the parliament to provide benefit to thier capitalist friends’. “In both the tenures of the Modi Government, the agriculture sector which is the backbone of Indian economy has gone into a deep crisis. Due to not getting the minimum support price on time, the debt burden on the farmers increased and moves like demonetisation shook the cash-based agricultural economy,” he added.
Meanwhile JPCC Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey and Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo said that Jayamangal Singh alias Anoop Singh will file his nomination on October 14 October as Congress candidate for Bermo Assembly by-election.
The Spokesperson said that during the nomination filing, many senior leaders and MLAs of the party will participate. “JPCC Chief. Rameshwar Oraon has already made it clear that all the Ministers in the State Capital, MLAs and senior leaders and officials will be given responsibility of different areas for the Bermo Assembly by-election. During this time, the leaders of the party will camp in the respective area and conduct public relations campaign with each and every voter,” they added.

The party has nominated Singh’s son Jaimanagal Singh , he is getting the support of all the classes. Rajendra Singh won the seat in 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2009 and 2019 assembly elections, Anoop Singh will work to carry forward this series of victories of his father,” he added.
