JPCC protests against demonetisation on its 4th anniversary

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Sunday held a protest demonstration against demonetisation by the Central Government four years ago on November 8.

Addressing a press meet, JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon said that demonetisation was the biggest scam in Indian history. The time has come that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should take responsibility for this pogrom which gave immense pain to common people, he added.

Four year earlier the Central Government announced demonetisation on November, 8.  Congress workers observed Betrayal Day on completion of four years of demonetisation. During this time, party leaders and workers in Ranchi staged their protest by wearing black ribbon on their shoulder and uploading videos on various social media.

In the State Capital, JPCC Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo, Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, Niranjan Paswan, Shakeel Akhtar Ansari, along with other leaders and workers held a protest demonstration near Albert Ekka Chowk.

During this period, the JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon, Congress Legislative Party Leader, Alamgir Alam, MLAs, MPs, former MLAs, former MPs and officials, including leaders and workers, also uploaded videos on social media of protest against demonetisation.

Hitting hard on the Central Government, Oraon said that the Indian economy completely collapsed, daily wagers were ruined, workers in the unorganized sector got heavy jolts, millions of people became unemployed, hundreds of people were killed in line to withdraw money, women’s deposits were snatched, but a few capitalists were benefitted by the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking a dig at the BJP-led Central Government, JPCC Chief said that demonetisation exposed the real face of BJP. He said that despite demonetisation, 99.30 per cent cash came back into the banking system, while the unorganized sector was completely destroyed.

“Despite demonetisation, return of 99.30 per cent cash in the system showed that black money could not be erased, it affected the poor and middle class only. Rs 26.3 crore farmers mostly dependent on the cash economy, which were badly affected by demonetisation,” said Oraon.

Meanwhile, JPCC Spokesperson Shahdeo informed that the party will hold ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ -- a Tractor Rally -- on November, 9 under leadership of State unit Chief Rameshwar Oraon against the recently passed agricultural laws of the Central Government.

It is known that former President of All India Congress Committee, Rahul Gandhi has started the historic ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ through public meetings in Punjab and Haryana by visiting the mandis against the anti-farmer laws passed by the Central Government.

Shahdeo said that ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ will start from Rampur in Namkum block it will pass through Namkum, Rajendra Prasad Check, Doranda, Veer Budhu Bhagat Chowk, Kishoreganj, Ratu Road from Argora and it will culminated at Kanke, where a meeting will be organized. Congress Legislature Party Leader, Alamgir Alam will also be present on the occasion.
