Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Monday celebrated the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda and launched a nation-wide awareness drive against rising inflation due to wrong policies of the Central Government. The party top office bearers chose Lord Birsa’s birthplace Ulihatu of Khunti District to ensure success of the programme.
JPCC Chief, Rajesh Thakur, JPCC Working presidents, Gita Koda, Bandhu Tirkey, MLA Rajesh Kachhap, former MLA Kalicharan Munda and Jan-Jagran Abhiyan State control room coordinator and former Minister, Keshav Mahato Kamlesh were present on the occasion with other office bearers of the party.
After garlanding the statue of Lord Birsa in Khunti the party leaders participated in the ‘padyatra’ program organized by the District Congress Committee to touch maximum numbers of people under the drive. After this, the party leaders participated in the padyatra program organized under the public awareness campaign organized at Bandgaon, Chakradharpur and Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district.
Addressing the gathering Thakur said that skyrocketing inflation and rising prices of daily necessities have made life difficult for the people and their employment is getting destroyed. “The destruction of the Indian economy by the ruling BJP Government and the rapidly deepening recession has pushed crores of our countrymen into the pit of unemployment. Poverty and hunger are increasing at an uncontrollable rate,” he added.
“In the name of good days during the seven years of Modi Government, the whole Country is facing the brunt of inflation, highest level of unemployment, dwindling jobs, bad business, three black agricultural laws to ruin food grains and farmers’ income. The Central Government has done the work of converting the opportunity of progress into depression for the farmers, laborers, daily wage earners, future students of India, youth, unemployed, housewives, that is every section of the society” said Thakur.
The party State Chief said that the purpose of this drive is to take the Congress party to the last person in the State and to make people aware about the rising inflation due to wrong policies of the Central Government.
Speaking on the occasion Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said that the economy of the whole Country has been disturbed due to inflation. “The growth rate of the Country has gone down. Rising inflation and unemployment have broken the back of the general public. Through this PROGRAMME Congres Party is trying to touch maximum numbers of the people to make them aware of how the wrong policies of the Modi Government are affecting their life,” he added.
