Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Thursday protested in front of Raj Bhawan against the Enforcement Directorate's interrogation of former Congress National president, Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.

Raising the issue, Congress workers of Jharkhand gathered at the Raj Bhavan. In the gherao programme, workers led by senior leaders arrived from all the districts. Raj Bhavan Gherao was led by Congress Legislature Party Leader and Rural Development Minister, Alamgir Alam.

Speaking on the occasion Alam said, the Central Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has forgotten that it was the Congress leaders who had done the work of bowing down the Centre during the farmers' movement and if will continue harass our leader by central agencies then we will once again force them to bow down in front of him.

The Minister in the State Government also said that today an attempt is being made to crush the democracy and constitutional institutions of the Country by the Modi Government in the Centre by using Central investigation agencies to get political mileage. The Central Government's One Rank One Pension Scheme has changed into No Rank No Pension today and it proved only a Jumla, he added.

Alam further said that BJP has not made a sacrifice for the freedom of the Country, Congress has given many sacrifices for the Country during the fight for freedom against the British.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion Agriculture Minister in the State Government, Badal said that wholesale inflation is at the highest level in the last 31 years. “The prices of food items are scorching the budget of the public like scorching heat and black marketeers and hoarders have become twelve. Even the deposits of the people have been looted and by robbing the banks of the country, the robbers are running abroad under Government protection. The heritage of the Country, built in 70 years, is being given to a handful of Dhanna Seths at the cost of money to Government companies. The income of 84 per cent of the people of the Country has decreased, the income of the farmers of the Country has been reduced to only 27 per day,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion former Minister in the State Government, KN Tripathi said that the Modi Government is in the footsteps of General Dyer today. “Congress workers in the All India Congress Committee office were attacked by Delhi Police on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs. On the pretext of ED, the Modi Government has done the work of harassing Rahul Gandhi. Hundreds of workers, including Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam, MLA Pradeep Yadav, Amba Prasad, MP Geeta Koda, are present in the Raj Bhavan gherao programme,” he added.
