Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Thursday expressed happiness over the success of the nationwide programme Outreach Campaign-2021. The Outreach programme was organised at the every district headquarter by holding Press meet.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhawan in the State Capital JPCC Working president, Rajesh Thakur said that following the instruction of All India Congress Committee (AICC) the JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon directed the programme will be run in 260 blocks.
“A Press conference has been organised through the party office-bearers to inform about this Outreach programme across the State. For the success of this programme, JPCC has shared the information with the Block President by way of organising visits and meetings in the concerned district and all the working presidents, zonal coordinators, since last week. To make this programme successful, a control room has also been established at the State level,” he added.
Thakur said in the recent past, after extensive consultation with AICC in-charge of all the States, PCC presidents, CLP leaders and members of the Covid-19 relief task force, the Congress has started the work in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. It has been decided to launch a nationwide Outreach campaign with an aim to involve the party cadre from PCC to Panchayat level to establish liaison and communication with the target group, he added.
The party working president said that through this campaign, the party aims to provide relief especially to those who have kept essential services running during the Covid pandemic period but are not recognised as frontline workers and who are most affected by the pandemic. Apart from relief, one of the goals of this campaign is to collect data of Covid affected and deceased family members, he added.
“After this, a condolence letter will be sent on behalf of the Congress President and the respective PCC Presidents to those families in whose family a member has lost his life due to COVID. This will also help us to disseminate information on issues related to COVID disease and post-COVID care and to identify the demands of COVID infected families so that the Congress party can take up those demands with the Government. The party will also take initiative with the State Government for how the widow of the house gets a widow pension after the death due to the infection. The Supreme Court has given six weeks’ time to the Central Government to decide the damages and compensation due to COVID infection. In such a situation, we will be successful in getting the benefits of the Central Government to the people through the survey conducted through the nationwide Outreach campaign,” said Thakur.
