Two youths namely Rupesh Yadav and Degan Turi were brutally killed in village Kusumbha of Katkamdag block of Hazaribagh on Dipawali night. It was alleged that the JPC extremists had killed them but now this banned left ultra organization has denied its involvement in this double murder case. The sub-zonal commander of JPC has issued a press release on this issue and has claimed that TPC extremists led by Kabir Ji are the main culprits of this case.

On Dipawali night more than 150 persons were playing cards in the outskirts of Kusumbha village which is called Bhandarbari. Here both Rupesh Yadav, son of Tulsi Yadav, and Degan Turi, son of Phulchand Turi, were playing cards beneath a jackfruit tree with other persons of the village.

At about 9:30 p.m. extremists reached there and picked them both. Some villagers resisted but the extremists who were in military dress and having weapons in their hands beat them all and then forcibly took both Yadav and Turi with them some 50 yards away from that tree.

All those who were playing cards there were helplessly looking at them and within minutes both were shot by the extremists in front of the crowd.

Police was informed which reached into the village at about 10:30 and by that time both have lost their lives. This incident is said to be a result of creating panic and supremacy of the organisation in Kusumbha area from where the conveyor belt of NTPC passes. This area is known for the clashes between two banned left ultra organizations JPC and TPC.

Initially it was in talks that JPC is behind these two murders but now with the press release of sub-zonal commander of JPC the allegation has turned towards TPC.

Both Rupesh Yadav and Degan Turi were small contractors. Rupesh has served NTPC as supervisor for sometimes and it is believed that due to levy amount they came in contact of the banned organisations.

Some days ago in same village JPC’s supremo was killed and just before Dipawali its activists Vivek Ji was killed in nearby Birhu village. It was the cause that initially the name of JPC came as suspect.
