On Friday evening, the 10-day long fast unto death agitation of JP Jail inmates came to its end after the assurance of CM Raghuvar Das. BJP Veteran Yashwant Sinha on Friday had raised the matter of their agitation in his meeting with Das.
The CM has said that the State Government will take no time in releasing the inmates who had already completed their sentence period and had written a letter to the Supreme Court to give final judgment as soon as possible because as per advocates advice the State Government cannot go ahead on the basis of the part of judgment given by the court on July 23, 2015.
Jail authorities gave this message to the agitators and urged to end the stir. The inmates agreed and in the evening called off their agitation.
