Jharkhand Vikash Morcha (JVM) suffered a blow in Kolhan division with former land reforms and Revenue Minister and senior JVM leader Dulal Bhuiyan resolved to join BJP at a function in Ranchi on August 10.
Bhuiyan, who joined the JVM in 2011, is following four other JVM leaders, Bokaro MlA Samresh Singh, Simaria’s Jai Prakash Singh Bhokta, Jamua’s Chandrika Mahtha and Giridih’s Nirbhaya Kumar Shatabdi who left the party last month. Prior to JVM fold, Bhuiyan was the three-time MlA from Jugsalai constituency and general secretary of Central committee of JMM.
‘I was let down and feeling suffocated in the party. The party is now in the hands of an individual person i.e. Babulal Marandi who is committed to individual politics. I have decided to resign from the party,” noted Bhuiyan. “Marandi ji is a good person but listens only to Pradip Yadav,” he further added.
The former JMM leader told he would resign from the party on August 10 and will formally join the BJP in presence of State president Ravinder Rai and other
senior leaders.
According to political pundits, the party that spearheaded the movement for clean politics in the State will face leadership crisis with the departure of several senior party workers.
In 2009 Assembly polls young face from AJSU Ramchandra Sahis turned out to be dark horse by defeating former land Reforms and Revenue Minister Dulal Bhuiyan with a margin of 3482 votes. Backed by the tribal voters of Patamda, Sahis received 42,810 while BJP candidate Rakhi Rai ended up with 39328 votes. Bhuiyan ended up third with 35,629 votes.
Meanwhile, the political pundits here observed that Bhuiyan is eyeing to contest from Jugsalai seat from the ticket of saffron party.
