In his presidential address, Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) VC Prof Gurdeep Singh appealed to the members to join hands to achieve the target of getting a place in the list of top 100 universities of the country.
VBU is undoubtedly the number one university of Jharkhand and it possesses the capacity of getting a berth in top universities. Giving a detailed account of the achievements and failures of his fifteen-month-long tenure, VC Prof Singh said that he has learnt many things from the teachers, staff and students of this university. “One thing I admired most that they all love their university,” he added. The 13th meeting of Senate of VBU was going on till the time of filing of this report.
Presenting the roadmap of development of Vinoba Bhave University before the members of Senate Prof Singh said that constructive criticism, positive thinking and a mindset of giving more and more to the organisation are the keys of success and hoped that the members of Senate, who come from almost all the sections of the society, will certainly help the present university administration in overall development.
Earlier, the meeting started with garlanding on the statue of Saint Vinoba and presentation of Kulgeet. The proceedings of the meeting started with introduction of new members and oath taking ceremony of newly elected teacher and non-teaching members. The letter of Chancellor having consent to convene the meeting was read and in absence of Chairman of the senate the chancellor, with the permission of house VC presided the meeting.
