Apprehensive about free and fair election for the lone Rajya Sabha seat on July 2, the JMM has written to the CEO of the Election Commission to interfere. Party’s general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya while raising the issue of six JVM MlAs who were shifted to the BJP just after Assembly elections, demanded that the legislators be stopped from voting.
The party has argued that the MlAs have been recognised as JVM member by the ECI whereas the voters’ list published by the Retuning Officer for the poll names them as BJP’s. The matter of their defection is also pending with the Assembly Speaker.
