Branding CM Raghubar Das as a ‘businessman’, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party workers burnt the effigy of Das in Bokaro on Wednesday. They also criticised the Global Investor Summit (GIS) beginning from February 16 in Ranchi.

The party workers alleged that Das government was trying to eradicate ‘Garib’ not ‘Garibi’. The government is organising ‘Global Investor Summit’ (GIS) to remove the poor tribals of their rights; its for ‘garib mitao’, said M Yadav, a party worker.

“Das government is working only to benefit capitalists and not for the poor tribals. He is not acting as a Chief Minister,” alleged Yadav.

The State government is spending hundreds of crores on GIS which is worthless for the tribal people, said Santosh, party president Chas committee. “The State government has made amendments in land Acts as well as in industrial policies. Now, it is on the move to earn profit from the tribal’s land. “The government will now acquire land and sell them to investors earning profit”, he alleged.
