In a first display of his party’s political stand after formation of the new Government in the State, JMM legislature party leader Hemant Soren led a group of hundreds of party workers and supporters to stage a sit-in near Raj Bahwan on Thursday. The sit-in called as ‘Mahadharna’ by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was attended by  party MlAs and workers against the land acquisition ordinance passed recently by the NDA Government at the Centre.

later, a delegation of the JMM under the leadership of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, handed over a memorandum to Governor Syed Ahmed seeking him to request President of India to cancel the Ordinance on ‘land Acquisition Act – 2015’ for Jharkhand. It was also stated that the Jharkhand Government should be directed to start the process of any recruitment only after defining domicile policy for the residents of the State.

According to Soren, the ordinance will prove to be a ‘black law’ for the people of the State. “We will never let this law implemented in the State, which is nothing but a black law for this State,” said Soren. Though, a ‘Mahadharna’ was staged against the law, but we will continue protesting against the ordinance.

Soren further added that the NDA Government at the Centre, in order to finish our identity has started to make us homeless and landless at our own homeland. The BJP Government, without defining the domicile policy has decided to give to the people coming from the other States so that we are forced to come on the footpath and beg before others, added Soren.

“The Government wants us to become criminals to make two ends meet as we will not be left with options but to beg before others,” said Soren. Central General Secretary of JMM Supriyo Bhattahcarya, Stephen Marandi, Haji Hussain Ansari and Vinod Pandey were also present in the Governor House while the memorandum was being handed over to the Governor.
