JMM seeks ECI intervention on 'use of black money’ by BJP

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Thursday leveled allegation against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that it had brought demonetisation to wipe out black money from the economy but it is spending black money in the elections. The party requested to Election Commission of India (ECI) to intervene in the issue.

Addressing a press meet JMM General Secretary, Supriyo Bhattacharya requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to intervene into the matter of around Rs 30 Lakh recovered from a vechile, which was carrying flag of BJP.  Bhattacharya also cited another example of Jamshedpur where more than Rs 2.5 crore and some ornaments recovered from a house of female BJP leader.

Bhattachrya said that the BJP is using black money in the election to get political mileage. He said that the State Police on Wednesday recovered Rs 30 lakh from a Tata Bolero under Chainpur Police Station in Palamu District which belongs to the BJP candidate for the Garhwa constituency, Satyendra Nath Tiwary.

“We are requesting the ECI that it should immediately take cognizance and cancel candidature of Tiwary from the seat immediately as it is complete case of using black money in the election.

The ECI has fixed maximum limit of spending money by any candidate in the election as Rs 28 lakh but the candidate’s vehicle was carrying more than the limit fix by the ECI,” he added.

Criticising the Union Minister for Home, Amit Shah’s visit to Manika and Lohardaga for campaigning of BJP’s candidate, Bhattacharya said that it is complete case of misuse of Government post as the Union Minister cited that BJP will build a huge Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“The Supreme Court of India has settled the issue and distributed land for both the parties to erect their religious structure. Almost all political parties have accepted and welcomed the decision of the Apex Court then how the Union Minister is using the issue in election rally,” he added.
