State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Sahdeo on Thursday said that after the arrest of senior JMM leader Prashant Thakur by Palamu Police on Thursday, the unholy nexus between JMM and naxals was revealed. Shahdeo said that several cases related to naxal incidents, arms Act, UPA and others have already been lodged against Thakur and police has fixed a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him. Pratul said that even at the time when a big JMM leader was contesting from Tamar, a case of releasing a dreaded Naxalite from the Tamar police station under the pressure of JMM had also came up. He said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has been so dazed by its defeat in the Lok Sabha that it has gone to any length to gain power.
Now, it is trying to win the elections by leading the Naxalites which is very dangerous for the democratic system. Pratul said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha should stop giving protection to the Naxalites. This has disastrous consequences. Thousands of innocent villagers and hundreds of security forces have been killed in the State due to naxal violence. The Maoists are on the back foot for the first time after a long fight. Therefore, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha should not give them political protection.
