Opposing the redundant expenses done by the State Government to welcome BJP national president Amit Shah, who will be on a three day visit of Jharkhand from Friday, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has demanded the State Government to release a white paper giving an account of the total expenses and the payments made so far in this regard.
Talking to media persons at party office, JMM spokesperson Supiryo Bhattacharya alleged that despite the fact that farmers were dying on the outskirts of the State Capital, the BJP president is coming here to pat the back of Chief Minister Raghubar Das for completing 1000 days in office, during which, he will also be taking part in a government programme as a chief guest.
“Farmers have been committing suicide on the periphery of the State Capital, while the relief money which was to be given to them is being diverted for the royal welcome of Shah,” said the JMM leader. “It is also beyond anybody’s understanding that on what ground Shah will be visiting Ulihatu, birth place of Birsa Munda, on the expenses of State Government,” he added.
“Shah will also take part in a government programme to be organized in the name of Garib Mela,” said Bhattacharya. He will be given grand welcomed without taking care of the protocol while posters, banners and hoardings were being printed on the background colour of the State Government, he added.
“So, the State Government should release a white paper giving a detailed account of the money spent on the publicity in the print, electronic, outdoor lED screens and social media,” said Bhattacharya. Rs 3 crore were also spent on the renovation work of State Guest House for Shah for which the work was started even before the process of tender was completed, he added.
Bhattacharya further said that during the last 1000 days of Raghubar Government in the office, public anger was quite visible as three police firings took place killing half a dozen poor and innocent people.
