Reacting strongly over Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s remark over JMM Chief Shibu Soren and his son Hemant Soren in Shikaripara on April 19, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has sought unconditional apology from him publically or threatened a Statewide protest. Talking to the media persons at party office on Thursday, JMM General Secretary Vinod Pandey also warned that the CM will not be allowed to speak inside the Assembly on April 27 until he apologises before the House on the issue.
A special session of the Jharkhand assembly will be convened on April 27 for the passage of the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) bill, a prerequisite that all States must follow before the implementation of a uniform GST nationwide from July 1.
Speaking during a workers conference at Shikaripara in Dumka, Das had questioned how long the people of Santhal Pargana would carry Shibu Soren along with themIJ He further had said that both the father and son have been duping the people there and had been doing politics on the issue of ‘jal, jungle and zameen’ (water, forest and land).
“The way Chief Minister has said indecent and indecorous words against ‘Guruji’ and Hemant Soren, JMM strongly criticizes his statement and demand him to apologise publically or we will continue opposing it further,” said Pandey. The party workers, with the cooperation of the people will also burn effigies of CM at headquarters of all 24 districts in the State on Thursday, he added.
Pandey further said that Das has lost his sanity after the people gave him a befitting defeat in littipara bi-elections and needs immediate medical assistance. It is just a matter of ‘sanskar,’ and it is for him to decide……. whether he inherited it from his family or from the BJP. It is an insult to all those people of Jharkhand who consider Shibu Soren as their liberator, he added.
Former Union Minister and Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay also criticised the CM for his remark against ‘Guruji’ and said that it was really shameful that the person, whom he used to call as his political father, was calling him a burden.
“He must tell people that what his character wasIJ He is speaking the language of an egoist who has kept all his civilization and culture on stake,” said Sahay.
Referring to CM’s remark that Hemant Soren had illegally acquired several acres of land in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Dumka by violating CNT SPT Acts, AJSU party has also questioned why action was not taken against Soren till date.
