Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) National General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the 11-year tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday he said that in these 11 years, due to the policies and decisions of the government, 11 such reasons were created in the country, which hindered the progress of the country.
Bhattacharya said, "There was a promise of providing two crore jobs every year, but in reality, lakhs of people are suffering from unemployment every year. We have reached such a situation that we have to import even grass and leaves for ourselves from foreign countries."
He raised questions on the economic policies of the government and said that the contribution of small and medium industries in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which was 16 per cent in 2014, has now come down to just 7 per cent. He claimed that the "NDA" has actually become a “National Disaster Alliance”.
The JMM General Secretary termed demonetization and GST as big economic disasters. He said, "After demonetization in 2016, there was chaos across the country. Hundreds of people lost their lives in queues at banks. On the other hand, GST, which was implemented in haste by calling a special session of Parliament at 12 midnight, proved disastrous for the industry."
Referring to some old promises of the central government, he said that slogans like "Abki baar kaala dhan waap", "Har khata me 15 lakh" and "Abki baar 400 paar" misled the public. He finally said that the public now wants change and in the coming years, this government will be ousted on its own.
