Ruling alliance in the State, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress on Sunday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Vishaws Rally’ as ‘Vishwasgat Rally’. Both the parties said that there is nothing for local and tribal people in the BJP rally, it is only an effort to dupe the community.
Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter JMM General Secretary, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that this rally of BJP was such a rally in which tribal society and its culture and tribal Sarna religion code were completely extinct. BJP leaders talk about tribal interest under 36,000 Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana, but any BJP leader has discussed the identity of the tribal society as 'Sarna Dharma Code', didn't, he added.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, the proposal of tribal Sarna Dharma Code was passed from the assembly in November 2021. All the political parties of Jharkhand met the Union Home Minister under the leadership of the Chief Minister and demanded Sarna Dharma Code. But today it was not even discussed with the words of the BJP National President and all the leaders,” said Bhattacharya.
The party General Secretary said that the word Adivasi was used, but none of the three former Chief Ministers (Raghuvar Das, Babulal Marandi and Arjun Munda) sitting on the stage even started their address with the word 'Johar'. “The JMM leader also retaliated for accusing Hemant Soren. BJP Ministers are not worried about the tribal society. They are afraid of the increasing popularity of the tribal society towards Hemant Sarkar. This fear compels them to organize a historic rally. The JMM leader said that those who claimed 50,000 in the rally saw that the number increased to 5000. In that too the tribal faces were completely extinct,” he added.
Attacking Babulal Marandi, Bhattacharya said that Babulal who once spoke against Raghuvar Das for changing the CNT Act, is sitting with him today.
Congress state president Rajesh Thakur termed the BJP's Vishwas rally as a mere hoax. He said that in view of the Mandar by-election, BJP has remembered the tribal society. This rally was organized to influence the election. The Election Commission should take suo motu cognizance of this immediately. Everyone knows how seriously the people of Jharkhand take BJP leader and their national president JP Nadda, he said.
