JMM claims victory after final phase of voting

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Friday claimed that the party will form government in the State after completion of fifth and final phase of polling for fifth State Assembly elections and said that the party will give unprecedented results on December 23 on the day counting of poll will took place.

Addressing a Press met on Friday at his party headquarter JMM General Secretary, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the party will get thumping majority in this State Assembly election as people from every section of society have voted the party in large numbers to form Government in the State.

There is a total 81 seats in the State Assembly and a party or an alliance will need the magic number of 41 to form the Government in the State. JMM contested the election after forming alliance with Indian National Congress (INC) and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

“The party will easily cross the simple majority mark with its alliance partner. There are chances that the alliance will get around three fold majority as it is one sided elections and people voted against fear, hunger and corruption to save the State’s treasure, which is water, forest and land,” said Bhattacharya.

Hitting hard on State Government led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the party General Secretary said that the people voted against misrule of BJP led State Government and its Chief Minister, Raghubar Das. “Several decisions of the Chief Minister forced the voters to poll against BJP be it closing of the Government school or local policy. The Chief Minister’s dictatorship will cost him hard as he perturbed the local people in various ways. He brought an amendment proposal in very old land law Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act and Santhal Paragana Tenancy act which hurt tribal a lot,” he added.

Replying on the question if the party will not get the majority then what step the party will take, Bhattacharya said that it is confirm that the party will easily cross the majority line and after announcement of the results other likeminded parties such as former Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi led Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and other Left Parties will support the alliance because they have also contested the elections against misrule of BJP.

“We are thankful to the people of the State which helped to complete the election peacefully and special thanks to people of Dumka and Barhet State Assembly seats for their support to JMM Executive president, Hemant Soren after Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s election rallies in these seats. Soren will win both the seats with huge margin,” said Bhattacharya.
