The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, calling election results not very encouraging for the party, called upon Opposition parties to come together for 2019 elections. Central spokesperson of JMM, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the party accepts the people’s mandate and will soon review the lapses which lead them to such results.
In the mean time he also warned other Opposition parties that the election results were also an indication that they should contest 2019 lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha Elections together in the leadership of leader of Opposition Hemant Soren as decided before 2018 Rajya Sabha Elections.
“JMM is committed towards contesting 2019 elections under the leadership of Hement Soren taking along all like minded parties together,” said Bhattacharya.
Congress Spokesperson lKN Shahdeo, on the other hand, said that despite the fact that poll results were not up to the expectation but it was quite satisfying that the voting percentage in its favour has increased up to 5 — 10 times.
“It is really encouraging that poll percentage has increased which indicates that our workers have been activated at the ground level,” said Shahdeo. 2019 elections will now be contested with double enthusiasm, he added.
Central Spokesperson of JVM Yogendra Pratap also claimed that the election results were not unexpected which could not be termed as encouraging or discouraging for any of the political parties as urban voters participate in it and the moment rural area starts, there arises problems for BJP.
“Election results indicate that the Opposition parties have lost their seats with a very small margin of votes and hence there is no reason for BJP to celebrate and should not term it as a mandate in favour of development,” said Singh. If the efforts made by JVM Chief Babulal Marandi of uniting the Opposition parties had been implemented there would have been a different scenario in the State, he added.
Elated with the local Body Elections declared on Friday, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that it was a clear indication that the voters have identified the kind of politics done by the Oppositions and Civic Polls results was a tight slap on their face.
“I want to thank the public for electing us and making us victorious. The voters have voted for development and denied the negative politics played by the Oppositions on the basis of caste and religion. I am elated to know that in Khunti, which is under the influence of Patthalgadi, we won both the seats,” said Das.
