Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader and former Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi for “becoming judge before completion of proper investigation of police”.
Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter, JMM General Secretary and Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the investigation has not even started in the Sunil Tiwari case and Babulal Marandi has come in the role of a High Court judge. He said that Marandi is busy saving his employee.
Bhattacharya said Marandi has now started advocating on the Tiwari’s matters on his own but the investigation has not started yet. “Let police complete the investigation then Marandi should say anything on the issue,” he added.
Party Spokesperson said Marandi openly threatened the Police, which is not good for a leader like his stature.
It may be mentioned here that a case has been filed sexual harassment against senior Journalist and Marandi’s political advisor, Sunil Tiwari at Argora Police Station in the State Capital on Wednesday’s morning. Addressing a press meet Marandi said that this step has been taken to threaten Tiwari who is Intervener in a sexual harassment case.
Bhattachrya said it is a matter of local and tribal girls and the State Government has nothing to do with the charges labeled by the girl against Tiwari. But, Marandi is trying to threaten the police personnel to save his friend but the State police will do its work with full honesty, he added
“The State Government is running a campaign against trafficking. Many girls, victims of trafficking have been rescued,” Bhattachrya said.
“The victims of trafficking are exploited due to financial deprivation. The Government is not only rescuing the girls but also it is providing them a source of livelihood. It is tormenting BJP and Marandi,” said Bhattachrya.
