JMM attacks BJP for imposing GST on essential goods

The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Tuesday once again attacked the Modi Government at the Center regarding the increase in GST rates. Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter in the State Capital JMM General Secretary and Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya attacked BJP for imposing Goods and Services Tax on essential items like floor, milk and others.

Bhattacharya gave the new name of GST as 'Jine K Liye Sanson par Tax '. Along with this, he also took a dig at the Modi Government on the issue of rising unemployment in the Country. He said that in the 47th meeting of the GST Council, the Modi Government has done the work of putting the economic burden on the middle class by increasing the tax on the items of everyday use.

The party General Secretary further said that the bun (bread) eaten with tea in the morning will now attract 5 per cent tax, slats and chalk will attract 18 per cent tax. “If you buy a diamond of a big brand, then only 1.5 per cent tax will have to be paid on it. That is, 5 per cent for bread and 1.5 per cent tax on buying luxury goods. It says that now we have to pay tax on breath to live,” he added.

Bhattacharya said that if there is even a little sensitivity in the Central Government, then make a standard for the tax to be taken from the citizens of the Country, otherwise make a law for the freedom of euthanasia from the Parliament.

Bhattacharya said, “The Modi government today is directly targeting the middle class on the pretext of GST. 5 per cent on taking 10 kg of flour and no tax on taking 50 kg. Tax will have to be paid on taking 1 liter of oil but no tax on taking 15 liters of tax. That is, the big people are directly exempted from tax. It is clear that the concept of welfare state has ended under the Modi Government.”

The JMM Spokesperson said, “Gautam Adani, an industrialist friend of the BJP, has become one of the four big people of the world. Unemployment is increasing every day. People are on the verge of poverty. On the other hand, the country is being looted by dividing it in the name of caste and religion. JMM will never tolerate this."
