Jharkhand IAS Officers Wives Association (JIASOWA) organised a blood donation camp at Dindayal Club on Saturday. Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Dr Sunil Kumar Barnwal inaugurated the camp by donating blood.

Around 22 people participated in the blood donation camp and 22 units of blood were collected.

“Blood donation can save someone’s life and there can no better noble work than this. There are many ways to serve humanity and blood donation is one of them. Many times the injured in road accidents are in urgent need of blood, which can only be met through such camps,” said Barnwal.

The Secretary further added that blood donation is ‘Mahadaan’ and is considered equivalent to life donation. “A healthy person must also donate blood as it has no harmful effects but instead it helps in remaining healthy.”

Director of Industries Kripanand Jha also donated blood at the camp. “Blood donation is a life saving activity and the aim of such camps is to fulfill the lack of blood in government hospitals. It also aims to make people aware of their social responsibilities and get significant contribution. JIASOWA has set an example of true service to humanity and such activities will inspire the youth,” said Jha.

Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Ranchi, Ananya Mitttal appreciated the efforts being carried out by JIASOWA. “Patients injured in road accidents have to wander around in search of blood and many times due to lack of blood the patient dies. The youth should come forward and donate blood and only then can the shortage of blood in hospitals be met,” said the DDC.

JIASOWA Secretary Manu Jha also donated blood on the occasion. “Human life can only be protected by blood donation and I don’t know whose life mine will protect. Blood donation gives a feeling of serving humanity and also self satisfaction,” said Jha.

JIASOWA member Ruchika Mangla donated blood for the first time. “Blood donations gives immense pleasure because it is a great social work. It requires people from all across the society to come forward. All healthy individuals should donate blood in the interest of the country and society at large,” she said.

Richa Sanchita, Media In- charge, JIASOWA said that nothing can be more virtuous than donating blood. “Donating blood can save many lives and one person’s blood deficiency can be fulfilled by another person. There is no other alternative for it,” said Sanchita.

The team of RIMS included Associate Professor Dr Sushma, Counselor Blood Bank RIMS Dr Kavita, Dr Aparna and others. Rajesh Kumar, Sikander Singh, Twinkle Singh and others donated blood at the camp and were given certificated by JIASOWA.
