Jharkhand State Health Service Association (JSHSA) publicly condemned Jamtara MLA, Irfan Ansari misbehave conducted by him with the Civil Surgeon and demanded that the MLA should apologize publicly within one week or face boycott by the doctors fraternity.
It was decided during the executive committee of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Jharkhand Chapter held under the leadership of IMA, Jharkhand Chief, AK Singh. On the occasion IMA, Jharkhand Women Doctors Wing Chief, Dr Bharti Kashyap, IMA, Jharkhand Secretary, Dr Pradip Singh, JHASA Chief, PP Shah, JHASA Secretary, Thakur Mrituanjay Singh and many Doctors across the State were present.
JHASA Secretary, Mritunjay Singh said this complete insult of any medical practitioner of the State and the Insari should apologize in public within one week publically otherwise we will be forced to launch a protest against his misbehave.
Ansari had participated in the strike of contracted mercury workers. Civil surgeons were involved in the second meeting. On the occasion he made indecent remarks on the civil surgeon and asked him to be dragged and brought before him.
Addressing a press meet after the meeting IMA Jharkhand Chief, Dr AK Singh said that the State Government has started looking at doctors with inferiority complex. “The Health Minister starts his speech in every program of doctors that he will implement the Medical Protection Act and Clinical Establishment Act in the interest of doctors. But this is said only to cheat the doctors. It has been three years since the Government was formed, but till now neither the MPA nor the CEA has been implemented,” he added.
IMA State Secretary, Dr Pradeep Singh while giving an ultimatum to the Government, said that if the Government does not take initiative towards implementation of MPA or CEA in 20 days, IMA and JHASA will jointly agitate in a phased manner. “It will be started with an OPD boycott across the State. Also, on February 13, a memorandum will be handed over to the administration in all the districts of the State,” he added.
It was decided in the meeting that the demand of the contractual paramedical personnel sitting on dharna for regularization is justified. It has been more than 15 days since their protest started, but till now the government has not reached to take care of them. In view of this, IMA and JHASA have also given their full support to him. He said that the entire medical community is with him if needed, they will also join the movement of mercury medical personnel.
