Jharkhand to become leading State in milk production: CM

Published on:

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said Jharkhand has become a leading State in the field of fish production and now it has to be a leader in milk and egg production also.

For this, the target will have to be fixed, so that the State can become self-sufficient in milk production. At the same time, the field of animal husbandry also needs attention.

According to the geographical composition of the area and the interest of the people there, animal husbandry has to be promoted.

The department should work by, including these

things in its action plan, he said while giving instructions to the officers in the review meeting of the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation here on Friday.

The CM said a special campaign should be run at the block level to cover the farmers with Kisan Credit Card. It should be ensured to receive applications from farmers by July 15.

“Complete the process of taking the application by camping. If cooperation is not being received from the bank, then the department should ask for clarification from the bank. The Government is working with the goal of giving Kisan

Credit Card to all the farmers of the State,” Soren directed the Fisheries Division to promote fisheries in the closed open mining complex.

“This will increase the economic capacity of the people. The department should not indulge in any kind of negligence in fisheries being done through cage culture in

various reservoirs. There

should be no shortage of fish or fish seed in any cage. Unless there is a large number of fisheries in the cage, the people associated with it will not get much profit. Department should pay attention to this. The department should bring a model of hatchery, goat rearing, poultry farming. Encourage the progressive farmers of the country in the State so that the farmers here can also move towards doing better in this direction,” he said.

The CM directed that the work of filling up the vacant posts in the department has to be done.

Lack of human resource is making it difficult for the beneficiaries to be benefitted at the district level.

He asked officials that till the vacant posts are not filled, work in coordination with other departments. Take initiative in the direction of taking work from the personnel working in the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department at the district level.

In order to review the works of the department, the Chief Minister directed that the Krishak Pathshala scheme should be given momentum. It has to be developed in the form of a cluster.

Krishak Pathshala will become a vehicle for capacity development of farmers by training them. The department should work expeditiously towards implementing the scheme.
