Jharkhand will be hard selling investment opportunities and climate in the State in the upcoming India International Trade Fair at Delhi as the Industry department and some of the State-owned premium brands are gearing up for the biggest trade extravaganza in the country to end investment drought as well as to put State’s produce among the best in class across the country.
The department of Industries is optimistic that with the clarity on most important issue — availability of land—and various industrial policies, Jharkhand will be in a comfortable position to woo investors vis-à-vis investment climate and investment risks with regard to the allotment of land for industries. The department is likely to be names as the nodal department for IITF-2015.
“We have asked revenue department to give us land and they are converting the land bank into plots. Before the trade fair we will be in a position not only with respect to land banks but also industrial policies as well. Preparedness like these will ultimately help in drawing investments,” said Director Industries, K Ravi Kumar.
Notably, almost all districts have confirmed demarcation of land for industrial purposes and the department of revenue in the past confirmed availability of land .The land bank is likely to have updated district-wise records of government land (gair mazrua), jungle-jhari (fringe forestland, distinct from forestland proper) and other categories. Moreover, the department of industry has been hobnobbing with industry representatives to evolve consensus over Jharkhand Industrial Policy, draft Food Processing, Feed Processing Policy and Jharkhand Industrial Park Operationalisation Procedure for 2015.
Some of the famous indigenous brands like Jharkraft is also gearing up for the occasion as officials confided that the state owned brand will be organising two trade fairs—August and October (approval of the government still awaited)—that will assist in preparing for
the grand event which
could be organised in the winter of 2015.
“The effort will be to show Jharkhand on a grand scale than the previous year. However preparations are yet to start as it is too much time for that,” said Managing Director, Jharkraft, AT Mishra.
Interestingly, the Jharkraft and Jharkhand Khadi Board had pulled crowd in the Jharkhand pavilion in IITF-2014. Besides, a car developed by National Institute of Foundry and Forge also grabbed eyeballs of visitors to the trade fair.
Sources, in the industry department confided that the participants in this year’s trade fair would include government departments and industries with bases in Jharkhand. State’s culture would be depicted through products made by tribal communities, said the source.
