Following the Maoist incident on Saturday claiming lives of at least 27 people in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand has also been put on high alert.
All the districts administrations, especially adjoining the neighbouring State have been directed to be prepared for any untoward incident and avoid any loose movement.
“All the SPs have been asked to be alert and ensure safety of their specified regions. They have also been directed to be extra cautious during the movement of the political leaders and have been told to review the security of police pickets and Ops,” said State DGP Rajeev Kumar.
The DGP has also ordered to expedite the ongoing anti-Maoist operations in the State and act immediately if they get any information about the Maoist movement.
All range Inspector Generals have been directed to intensify vigil to prevent the ultras from entering the State. Heavily-armed Maoists ambushed a convoy of Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh, killing at least 27 people — including senior party leader Mahendra Karma and State party Chief Nand Kumar Patel.
Former Union Minister V C Shukla and 31 others were also injured in the incident.
