The Jharkhand High Court has sought reply from Ranchi University (RU) in connection with a case filed by a research scholar. RU had cancelled the registration of the scholar along with two other scholars who were pursuing doctorate in Hindi under BK Mishra at SSJSN College of Garhwa in 2008.
This college is a newly constituent college of RU.
Highlighting over this issue RU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Pro-VC) Dr Raziuddin said, “According to UGC norms, a scholar cannot carry research work under a temporary teacher. Mishra was not a permanent faculty of RU. The registration of these scholars was also done in a false manner. It was because of these two reasons that university objected on this research work during the tenure of Dr AA Khan as the RU Vice Chancellor.”
The matter was discussed at the Research Council meet on Monday headed by VC Dr lN Bhagat. “We will soon send a report to the High Court on this matter,” added the Pro-VC.
