People from a cross section of society including Chief Minister Raghubar Das today hailed the step taken by the Central Government to strike off provisions of Article 370 and removing Article 35A of the Constitution. The CM, while congratulating PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, said that the step is aimed at realising public aspirations and construction of a united India.
Das said that Kashmir is an inseparable part of the country. Pakistan, which is notorious for spreading terrorism across the world, wants to spread anarchy by waging a proxy war and terrorism in Kashmir and other parts of the nation, he said. “In the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah noose is being tightened around terrorism. Crores of countrymen want Kashmir to be free of terrorism and development takes place in the region just like other parts of the country,” he added.
The CM said that after 2014 nationalism has been revitalised in Indian politics. “I and obliged with the decision of Supreme Court to take decision of daily hearing of Ram Mandir issue. Lord Rama is icon of Indian culture.
It is appealed from people of all religion and communities to help in construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya,” he said.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda also congratulated the PM and Home Minister and said that in one country, one rule and one emblem has been made. Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar said that today J & K is reborn and it is a historic day for the country. The Narendra Modi's government has taken a bold step. With this decision, the resolution of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ has been realised, he said.
AJSU Party chief Sudesh Kumar Mahto said on the occasion that amendment in Article 370 is a step further in the way of national integration and is a brave and historic decision. Mahto congratulated PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Principal Opposition party of the State, Jharkhand Multi Morcha, has also welcomed the decision of the Centre with positive criticism. A letter issued by JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya stated that the party welcomes the decision, though it would have been much better if the assent of the legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir had been taken before the decision. The party said that since the State of J&K is under President’s Rule the decision is an attack on the federal structure of governance in the State.
Toeing the line of its high command, State Congress media incharge Rajesh Thakur said that the party is with the Constitution of India. “The BJP is neglecting the values of Constitution just for the sake of its political benefits. We are afraid that the BJP would end the CNT, SPT Acts in Jharkhand. The party is making an environment of fear in the country to benefit the capitalists,” he said.
