Welcoming the decision at the Goa national executive meet to appoint Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the chairman of the BJP's election campaign committee on Sunday, the State BJP has said the decision will help instill cultural nationalism and the party's values in the people of the country.

"After Narendra Modi election as the chairman of BJP's election campaign committee, we will be able to instill cultural nationalism and the values of the party in the masses," said State BJP chief Ravindra Rai. According to Rai, Modi has been elected as per the expectations and wishes of the common party worker right from block to the national level.

"This decision of the party at the Goa conclave has won the confidence of the people of the country, besides boosting the enthusiasm to party workers," added Rai. Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda had also expressed his feelings in Modi's support on Friday, ahead of the conclave. He had justified the call by saying that the country required a strong and decisive leadership to reverse the trend of economic slowdown which had plagued the nation under nine years' rule of the United Progressive Alliance.

Rai also expressed the hope that after Modi getting appointed as the chairman of the election campaign committee, the BJP would get a clear majority in the coming lok Sabha elections, besides benefiting the party in Jharkhand in the next Assembly elections, which is expected by the end of this year.

State BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha also believes that Modi's election would give a new lease of life to the party workers resulting to better performance in the next lok Sabha elections.

"The people of Jharkhand have always considered Modi as their leader. His popularity will affect positively in the next Assembly elections in the State and will be able to perform well as per the expectations of the people of the State," said Sinha.

Sinha also denied any rift in the top leadership of the country and said that former Deputy Prime Minister lal Krishna Advani due to his illness could not attend the conclave but the presence of all the top leadership is an answer to the criticism in this regard.
