In a public hearing of Tata Power’s Annual Performance Review (APR) Petition for FY 2015-16 in the city, the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) heard the company’s proposed revised Additional Revenue Requirement (ARR) for FY 2015-16 for Units 2 and 3 of Tata Power’s Jojobera plant. This includes truing-up of FY 2013-14, FY 2014-15 based on actual expenditure incurred. Additionally the company has proposed incremental ARR for FY 2012-13 in light of the judgment in Appeal No. 195 of 2015 by the Appellate Tribunal of Electricity.
The variation in ARR, as approved by commission in MYT order May 31, 2012, is mainly on account of uncontrollable parameters like the increase in price of coal , expense of ash disposal, raw water charges (in FY 2015-16) and incentives on the better performance as per Tariff Regulations.
Tata Power Company representatives present at the hearing showcased a detail Presentation on APR (Annual Performance Review) Petition and proof-points to justify the proposed increment.
On behalf of the JSERC Honorable Justice NN Tiwari, JSERC chairperson and RN Singh, member technical, JSERC presided over the hearing. The proceedings were conducted by the AK Mehta, Secretary, JSERC.
Speaking on this, Puneet Munjal, chief-commercial & regulations, Tata Power, said, “We have projected an additional revenue requirement (ARR) after doing a detailed working in line with the entitlements as per the regulations. The ARR concept is always revenue neutral as per regulations, which has been followed.”
Vijay Namjoshi, chief– Jojobera, Tata Power, quoted, “We are hopeful that the honorable Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) would approve our petition. We are positive that this will help us to continue delivering quality services to our consumers.”
