Espousing various innovative methodologies to impart quality education among the students of government schools functioning across the State, Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has adopted a unique plan to assess the competence level of children of different classes by conducting annual evaluation of government school children through examining them in all the subjects taught at different stages.
The annual examination copies of government school students will be evaluated by the other teaching faculty members in order to maintain transparency, curb deteriorating standard of education at government schools and to maintain overall record the individual kid for references.
There are approximately 2,373 Government schools in Ranchi district and around 40,000 government schools are functioning across the State. All the recorded inputs collected after annual evaluation will be maintained in the District Information of Education System (DIES) portal that can be further accessed.
With the aim to know the ability of each kid admitted at government schools, examination of all basic subjects which includes English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Sanskrit will be conducted. The examination will be conducted at the home centers of all government and government aided schools from March 16 to March 24.
“Besides the continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) pattern, this is an achievement survey and will be helpful in knowing about the caliber of the children studying at government schools. The step will further boost up the standard of education imparted to kids at government school including the teacher’s performance. All the copies of different subjects will be evaluated by CRC. As many as 114 CRC circles are there in the Capital City,” said, Ranchi DSE, Shivendra Kumar.
All the data will be feed up in the National Portal of DIES maintained by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD). “Earlier, only numbers were registered in the web portal, however, now after evaluating the students’ performance at each class, all details with subject marks will be registered in the web portal. Specific details of each kid will be available at the web portal. As many as 5.33 lakh government school students detail will be feed up in the coming days from Jharkhand,” added, Kumar.
Beside the change in the pattern in scrutinizing the answer sheets of the students to maintain parity, questionnaires for different subjects are being prepared under the expert’s guidance. All kids studying in class1 and 2 will have to take oral examination whereas students up to standard 8 will take written examination for different subjects. Marks will be given out of 100 and no further change in marking pattern has been made.
