The Ministry of Civil Aviation Ministry is emphasising to improve regional connectivity in the country. Our aim is to provide air travelling facility to those who are travelling in higher classes of Railways so the present Government is trying to develop some new airports in the days to come so that more and more people can travel by air at an affordable rate. We are also trying to improve the facilities and qualities of Air India,” said MoS Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha in a brief talk with The Pioneer here in Ranchi on Monday.

Sinha said that the Government aims to provide air connectivity to the denizens of small and medium towns of the country and for it the Civil Aviation Ministry has drafted a policy for the regional connectivity in the country. Some small and medium towns have already been selected and soon work is going to start on this ambitious plan.

Talking about Air India, Sinha said that efforts are on to improve the quality and facility for the passengers. Talking about the recently framed National Civil Aviation Policy and its benefits especially to the home State Jharkhand Sinha said that Jharkhand is always in the priority list of the central government. Our department is preparing a plan to connect the towns of Jharkhand with air services and it can be hoped that Hazaribagh will soon be on the air map of India.

Jayant said that during this visit he talked with the officials of District Administration on this issue and he was informed that there are some problems especially of land disputes for proposed Hazaribagh aero drum located earlier by the Government. There is no problem of fund and I have instructed the district officials to solve the disputes as early as possible.

When asked about the stories coming as the cause of change in his ministry Sinha first smiled and then said that the Prime Minister has shown faith on me. The scope of proving my mettle is very vast in the civil aviation ministry and I will try my best to fulfill the faith and desires of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
