One company of Jharkhand armed Police (JAP -8) is deployed at Masurya village on the border of Palamu touching Bihar where a police picket is coming up which will be another thorn in flesh for the Maoists who sneak in Jharkhand’s Palamu from Bihar.
Bhhomi Pujan was done for the picket where ASP (Ops) Arun K Singh and SDPO Chhaterpur Shambhu K Singh sat and recited vedic mantras chanted by a couple of pundits with all mandatory rituals of fruits and coconuts.
Indrajeet Mahatha SP Palamu said the first thing that police do in setting up picket or post or camp is to have water and a heavy deep bore machine has been sent in there at Masurya for this.
On being asked if this police picket at Masurya is on any piece of forest land, the SP said, “DC Palamu has given this chunk of 2.47 acres of land. The forest department has no objection to it. It is a security set up and hence all care has been taken for every aspect of this picket.”
Masurya picket is at such a location where Jio connectivity works, said the SP with a sense of happiness as a couple of such pickets and camps of police here are plagued with poor or no cellular connectivity like Chetma where cellular connectivity is like a dream for moon.
SP said, “Administration has a plan to establish BSNL tower here.”
About the location of this Masurya police picket SP said, “It has a high strategic value. It is near Bihar’s Gaya district areas lying in contiguity of Jharkhand’s Palamu. This police picket of our State will have an aerial look over areas of Bihar’s Gaya as well.”
The SP added further said, “This police picket will have an interstate offensive capability besides containing and curbing Maoists in Palamu and Chatra districts of our State.”
Sources said Masurya is the entry and the exit of top Maoists like Sandeep ji, Arvind Bhuiyan, Kumdan Yadav and Raheeman ji but with this security set up here their entry and exit will now be a tough task and too hazardous for them.
“Masurya police picket is like a launching pad. It is the ground zero for operation, drive and attack on the Maoists. It is at the same time the spring board for government’s welfare and development schemes,” said the SP.
“Today’s politicking is inclusive. It ropes in all law abiding netizens. There is more sensitivity and sensibility coming to police force now” claimed the SP.
